What is Paintball?

Played in over 40 countries by millions of men and women of all ages and life styles, Paintball is a sport which attracts men and women equally and age is of no consequence in the game. The sport of Paintball does not require physical strength and size rather success is gained through strategy, intelligence and the determination to succeed in the game.

Paintballistics uses semi automatic BT4 Paintball Markers. Markers are high tech blowguns and are designed to propel the paintballs at a speed of 200 to 300 feet per second. Paintballs are a round thin plastic shell filled with a water-soluble paint. Since paintballs only weigh a few grams each they have very little momentum whilst in flight and thus are not lethal like the heavy lead projectiles fired from conventional firearms.

For your safety Paintball players must always wear protective goggles to protect their eyes whilst playing.

Although there are many different game formats the most common one is where a group of players will divide into two teams to play "capture the flag".

The objective of the game is to go out and capture the other team’s flag at the same time you are eliminating the opposition team by tagging them with a paintball. On impact the paintballs break open releasing brightly coloured vegetable dye. When you have been tagged you raise your marker above your head, call “HIT” and walk from the field to the designated safe area.

Game Duration
Games run for 15 – 30 minutes depending on the size of the field and the number of players. Between games, players take a break, reload, check equipment and plan strategies for the next game.

You can play to your own fitness level but be prepared to raise the tempo as the adrenalin and the competitive will to win steps in.

Paintball is a safe activity. Referees control the games and the players must wear safety facemasks at all times unless in a designated safe area. Being marked does hurt and may produce some bruising. The referees will deal with safety breaches quickly.

Who can play?
There is an age restriction by WA State law of 16 years and over unless accompanied by an adult.
